When three men with extensive hotel and restaurant backgrounds open a dining venue you can bet it’s going to be a pretty happening spot. Since its establishment in 2015, Monty’s has become a favourite among Jakarta’s foodies. Located in the bustling area of Senopati, Monty’s offers a Scandinavian style of cooking with an international menu specialising in grilled seafood and meat but also serving healthy, organic and unique dishes.
Modern minimalism is the theme of this venue, with black marble tables, white glass and a giant gold chandelier as the main feature, while the social lounge and whisky bar on the third floor offers a chic ambience with dim lighting.
Go for some of the sample dishes specially created by Executive Chef Christer Foldnes, like Champagne & sea scallop angel hair or black truffle tagliolini, and be sure to try one of the pretty-looking desserts, such as Dark Chocolate & Whiskey, which will satisfy all those with a sweet tooth.
After dinner you can sidle up to the bar and try delicious signature cocktails, select Champagne and also amazing wine. Whatever you choose, you can do so knowing the co-owners, Bogdan Vlase and Klaus Woizik, managed Nip & Dram, a famous whisky and fine spirit bar in Jakarta, so they know what they are doing.
