Set alongside the white sands of Sanur and the resort’s shimmering pool, wrapped around the trunk of a mature shade tree, Tree Bar at Maya Sanur Resort & Spa has a stunningly picturesque setting. Boasting three different elevations – from its ground floor decking, to a sun terrace on the next level and the rooftop deck above, it makes the most of the far-reaching ocean views across to the horizon.
The team at Tree Bar serve an enticing mix of exotic cocktails that range from classics like the Espresso Martini, Old Fashioned and Pina Colada, to the tropical Finding Nemo with vodka, blue curacao, lime juice, michelia syrup and ginger ale, and the spicy Burning Mandarin with orange-infused vodka, cranberry, orange and lime juices and fresh chilli.
Gin and rum lovers also have their own section of the drink menu with the beautiful pale purple Gin Love Cananga comprising butterfly pea gin, lime juice, cananga flower syrup, anise and tonic water for a very Balinese twist to the classic gin and tonic. There is also a good selection of wines, including bubbles, by the bottle or the glass, as well as beers, spirits, mocktails, juices and coffee. Accompanying all the drinks is a selection of sweet and savoury bar bites.
Open daily from 10am until midnight, Tree Bar aficionados can enjoy musical entertainment from a DJ on Friday and Saturday from mid-afternoon until 8pm, while Sunday to Thursday there is live acoustic music. The music stops at 7pm on Wednesdays so that guests can watch the fascinating fire dance at neighbouring Reef restaurant.
