Leading Australian wine brand Wolf Blass has launched a regional campaign titled “Find Your Flavour” with the Michelin Guide, aiming to educate diners about matching wines with Asian cuisine. An exclusive wine pairing dinner at Kaum Jakarta in early December cemented the concept of wine-paired Asian dishes.
Wolf Blass brand ambassador Sam Stephens explained about the different notes of Wolf Blass Gold Label, clarifying that there is no right or wrong when it comes to pairing wine with food, and that a great wine will complement the taste of delicious Asian cuisine. Based on specially created, typical sauces, Wolf Blass has created new wine-pairing rules that educate consumers to focus on the sauces as the indicator for their wine selection.
As a warm-up, guests tried crackers dipped in four kinds of sauce, curry gravy, glazed hoisin, black nut and chili paste, each paired with a Wolf Blass Gold Label wine: Gold Label Chardonnay 2016, Gold Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Gold Label Shiraz 2016 and Gray Label Cabernet Shiraz 2012.
The Kaum Jakarta team served up entrées, ranging from gohu tuna fish to soft-shell crab curry and hoisin roast duck roast, so guests could enjoy the Wolf Blass Gold Label that added to the authentic taste, offering a perfect experience.
