Beachfront Bliss

The Legian Bali is one of Seminyak’s most elegant luxury properties and one that has also carved out an enviable reputation for its excellent beachfront dining backed by impeccable service.

Despite the success, the team at The Legian are always developing new ideas and dishes. The latest culinary offering however takes two classic concepts, the Seafood Grill and the famous Indonesian Rijsttafel, and simply adds a touch of the famed Legian gastronomic flair.

Backed by an impressive drinks menu, the new Seafood Grill is available every Friday night accompanied by a beach bonfire and entertainment. The dinner starts with a rich fish soup before diners head to the beachside grill and sample tuna, squid, snapper, jumbo prawn and bamboo lobster accompanied by rice, mixed salad, plecing Kangkung, charred vegetables and, of course, a choice of condiments followed by a selection of fresh fruit with crisp coconut sour, orange sauce or basil seed and yoghurt sorbet.

Available Tuesday evenings at The Restaurant, the Indonesian Rijsttafel is a majestic feast with its origins in the ancient royal households of Indonesia. Aside from its festive nature it’s also the ideal way to sample some of the very best dishes from around the archipelago.

The Legian’s Rijsttafel starts with sop buntut, gado-gado and satay lilit before diners are invited to experience an array of authentic classics like ayam balado, pepes ikan, beef rendang and Bali’s famous babi guling accompanied by white, red and yellow rice and a selection of traditional sambals. The meal closes with bubur injin – black rice pudding, kolek pisang – banana dumplings in palm sugar and a refreshing coconut sorbet. Advanced booking is highly recommended
