The Dining Room Welcomes Its First Guest Chef

Ton Tassanakajohn

Raffles Jakarta distinguishes itself in countless ways, including its outstanding cuisine. This September, the hotel reveals its latest innovative concept, The Dining Room, featuring a high-tech interactive open show kitchen that makes it just perfect for occasions such as special events, culinary collaborations with guest chefs and restaurant takeovers.

On 14 September, The Dining Room will host Chef Ton Tassanakajohn from the Michelin-starred Le Du in Bangkok who will create an exclusive six-course dinner allowing guests to savour his delectable French-inspired Thai cuisine crafted with local ingredients. Chef Ton was raised on the flavours of his mother’s and grandmother’s home-cooked Thai dishes. After pursuing his dream at the Culinary Institute of America and working at Eleven Madison Park, The Modern and Jean Georges in New York, he returned to Thailand and now runs the kitchens at Le Du and Baan. In Chef Ton’s creations for Le Du, seasonal ingredients and progressive French-influenced dishes rooted in tradition are the focus. Le Du was awarded one Michelin star in 2018 and ranked No. 20 in this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.

The special dinner is priced at IDR1,200,000 net per person and IDR1,500,000 with additional wine pairing. For reservations, call The Dining Room on (+62) 2129880888 or email dining.jakarta@raffles.com.
