In the heart of Seminyak, right at the end of Sunset Road, is the renowned steak house Boy‘N’Cow. What you might not realise is that this celebration of carnivorous delights has a happening cocktail lounge on its mezzanine floor.
While the restaurant downstairs offers an industrial vibe, upstairs is sleeker, although still with that edgy ambience. Red leather bar chairs line the bar, while curved banquettes provide a view over the restaurant, add moody lighting and talented bar staff and it all adds up to a venue that attracts serious drinkers and night owls, as well as those looking for a pre- or post-dinner drink.
Alongside the classics on the menu are some in-house creations that are worth a try. The 20-day barrel-aged, super-smooth and rich Negroni comes in three different styles. In addition to the classic recipe is the Rossita, a mix of tequila, Aperol and sweet vermouth, while The Boulevardier is bourbon, Campari and sweet vermouth.
On a more local note, the Salak Sour adds a unique twist through the use of Bali’s famed snakefruit – salak in the Indonesian language. At Boy‘N’Cow, the sweet and sour character of the salak provides a distinct note and is blended with bourbon whisky, Islay scotch, spice syrup and aromatic bitters. If you prefer something a little sweeter, the Soursop Margarita is fragrant and has a lovely Salt Lime Air Bubble finish. Go quench those taste buds.
