CUT at Marina Bay Sands is yet another success story for master Chef and Restaurateur Wolfgang Puck. It’s the first Asian location for his award-winning Beverly Hills steakhouse chain and well known for its terrific food and, of course, its fabulous cocktails. The soft, pink Rough Love in particular is very impressive. Instead of a Martini or Coupe glass, this effervescent delight appears in a large wine goblet with just a single fresh raspberry sitting astride a shaped chunk of ice. With a delectable blend of Champagne, Japanese Shiso Umeshu, Tanqueray No.10 Gin and Peach Bitters, this exquisite cocktail packs a punch. The concept is to drink the cocktail without disturbing the bright little berry on its floating ice raft. Although elegant and simple in the glass, it’s an intricate drink with a sweet plum nose and a complex blend of sweet, sour and bitterness on the palate. Refreshing, almost cleansing and very sophisticated; a perfect before or after dinner cocktail.
