Ubud Food Festival Gears Up for Four Days of Culinary Exploration

The 11th edition of Ubud Food Festival unites the different facets of the culinary world to present a four-day weekend of the highly anticipated food markets, special events, and chef’s tables under the theme Farmers: Guardians of Land and Sea.

In a culture where food functions as the centrepiece of ceremonies, society, and economy, it’s only natural for cuisine to be celebrated. That’s why the annual Ubud Food Festival continues to draw in exponentially bigger crowds with each event, with the 11th edition taking place on 28-31 May 2026 at Taman Kuliner. As with previous iterations, this year brings together chefs, farmers, artisan producers, artists, and experts in the industry, treating epicureans to a programme teeming with avenues to explore the rich identity and heritage of Indonesia’s food culture.

The theme for 2026 is Farmers: Guardians of Land and Sea, highlighting the importance of local produce and terroir in the culinary world. Each event embodies this in different ways, from insightful talks and food tours that highlight conservation and locality, cooking demonstrations by experts of Indonesian cuisine, and the always popular  market replete with Indonesian street food stalls. Rounding out the programme is a lineup of masterclasses, competitions, and special events and chef’s tables that abridge Indonesian cuisine to the wider scale of global gastronomy.

“This year’s programme is nothing short of extraordinary, stacked as it is with international talent well worth making the journey for. The one-off collaborations, which see Indonesia’s best chefs work their magic alongside the region’s culinary stars, are the very essence of Ubud Food Festival,” said Founder and Director Janet DeNeefe. “Our Chef’s Tables and Masterclasses once again bring Indonesia’s finest chefs and the region’s culinary stars in front of a wider audience, and that, at its core, is the essence of our Festival. These sessions are about sparking curiosity, deepening appreciation for the world’s culinary traditions, and leaving people hungry to know more.”

This year’s chef’s table lineup includes esteemed global names like Ben Devlin of Pipit in Byron Bay, Abel Ortiz of Hong Kong’s Chullschick, Malaysian celebrity chef Wan, and Joe Napol of the Thai MICHELIN Guide entry Samlor; acclaimed Bali-based international chefs like Blake Thornley of Spice by Blake and Andrés Becerra of Santanera; as well as local culinary stars from all over the archipelago like Jovan Koraag, Renatta Moeloek, and Ragil Imam Wibowo. The venues are just as impressive, spanning Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, The Kelusa at Samsara Ubud, and Uma Cucina, among other standout restaurants like Mozaic and Spice by Blake.

Australian pastry chef Kate Reid, meanwhile, joins the programme for a special breakfast. The Founder of Lune Croissanterie and former Formula 1 aerodynamicist is slated to share her story in an intimate conversation before stepping up as judge for the Best Croissant in Bali 2026 competition. Festival Masterclasses also provide a wider insight into the culinary landscape outside the kitchen, with workshops on food photography and styling, creative brand strategy, and content-making.

With such a stacked lineup of events, Ubud Food Festival offers no shortage of things to look forward to across its four days. It showcases the different threads that make up the tapestry of Indonesia’s food culture and landscape, serving them up in such a way that’s immersive, grand, but still accessible and humble.
