Pearl Chinese Restaurant

JKTJWsteamedbun

Earning a strong reputation as one of the city’s finest Chinese restaurants, Pearl is known for serving up authentic Cantonese dishes. If you are a big fan of it, then yam cha would be a great choice to start off your day. Literally meaning “to drink tea”, yam cha is a Cantonese tradition transformed into a modern brunch accompanied by Chinese tea. Yam cha is available every Sunday from 10AM to 2.30PM. Reservations are highly recommended since the restaurant is usually packed during these hours. There are four private rooms available in Pearl with capacities of 10 – 15 people for small gatherings or family dining. This Sunday brunch is presented by Executive Chinese Chef John Chu and his creative culinary team.

Start with ordering a selection of dim sum from separate menus, from deep-fried dim sum, steamed, or boiled brought to the guest fresh from the kitchen, such as siew mai, ha kau, lo maigai, kuo tie, shrimp dumplings and bean curd skin rolls. Beside the popular varieties of dim sum, Pearl also serves cha siu bao (steamed bun with barbecue pork), shrimp shu mai and taro dumplings.

Favourite Feature:

There’s always room for desserts no matter how full you are! And lemongrass jelly, mousse and poached mango pudding with mixed fruits is among Chef John’s signature dishes. Served in the round jar, this cute yellow jelly tastes fresh and can neutralize all the flavours you tasted before. A great selection to end this brunch and a Sunday indeed well spent in Pearl!
