Who’s That Girl?

Meet LuLu, Singapore’s “it” girl who knows good music, shows you a good time and makes the best drinks.

Singapore is a city that has it all, from cultural attractions to the best parties in the region, delicious street food and the finest haute cuisine dining establishments you could imagine. The city’s nightlife scene even has a venue that transports you through time and space, to New York City in the 1960s, to be exact. Night crawlers, please behold, LuLu’s Lounge!

The lounge shares its name with its fictional owner/inspiration; a stylish girl with sass, brought up in the Bronx and a regular of New York City’s back alley clubs. Patrons’ first impression of LuLu’s Lounge is the vibrant atmosphere, with its unique interior that is both laid-back and wonderfully retro-eccentric. The flickering neon sign really brings the intriguing downtown vibe to life, while the lipstick stained napkins will have you looking forward to an exciting night ahead. If you’re in the mood for a mellower alfresco setting, LuLu’s opens her doors to the garden patio, where you can find intimate fairy light lighting and a vintage-modern design.

But what’s a night out without intoxicating elixirs of your choice? Lucky for you, LuLu’s serves an array of potent libations that give a cheeky twist to classic cocktails. Va Va Voom is a spicy take on a Paloma with Ilegal mezcal, house-made grenadine and grapefruit soda, served with orange and chilli flavoured ice cubes and chilli powder-dusted cucumber. Big Coconuts, on the other hand, is a fiercer version of a Piña Colada with Reyka vodka, kaffir lime syrup and coconut cream.

Big Coconuts

There are plenty more signature cocktails from where those two came from, and everyone’s welcome to come and lose track of time at the lounge, which is open from 7pm on Wednesday and 9pm on Thursday to Saturday all the way until 6am. Furthermore, LuLu’s Lounge has a wide selection of fine wines, quality spirits and scrumptious bites.

There’s never a dull moment with LuLu, as she takes her patrons back to New York City’s post-disco, jazz boogie eras with Le Beat Bespoke every Wednesday night. Gues ts can also savour the complimentary canapés, and ladies get to enjoy free flow prosecco from 9pm till midnight.

The Peppermint Party every Friday, meanwhile, plays a mix from the golden era of hip hop and R&B. True fans of the genres won’t want to miss Cafe Bizarre every Saturday, a celebration of old school hip hop with a dash of dancehall.

The latest addition to the merriment is INMYHOUSE every Thursday night, featuring rotation of locally renowned DJs like JNR and Max Verrier, to Stephen Day and Matty Wainwright. Look forward to a curated line up of global talents headlining INMYHOUSE this year. Not one to be missed, LuLu knows how to beat your midweek blues and improve your weekend evenings.
