Garçon is a popular bistro, bar and patisserie in the heart of Plaza Senayan that brings French flair to Jakarta. The interior is stylish, modern and classy with a Parisian vibe. Guests pass the patisserie counter filled with brightly coloured European-style cakes to enter the bistro, where a warm, friendly atmosphere is found. Chef Camille Benedetto-Flosse’s long experience in classic French cuisine with a distinctive Mediterranean twist includes stints in Michelin-starred restaurants, meaning much of the pâté, chutneys and breads are made in house. Popular choices include the pâté en croute served with chutney, homemade brie with truffled mascarpone marbling served with rustic bread and the four-hour oven-braised wagyu shin shank with mash and locally sourced vegetables. A daily special is written on the blackboard, allowing the kitchen team to make the most of the freshest ingredients, which are locally sourced as much as possible in the interests of sustainability. The cakes and desserts are delectable, created by Garcon’s pastry chef, Masaaki Konno, who worked under culinary legend Joël Robuchon.
