Patrons enter the ornate heritage shop house via a replica of the famous black door of number 10 Downing Street and step into a world oozing intimacy and cool Britannia. At its heart sits an 8m granite bar complemented by handmade, high-backed leather stools. Behind the bar, antique mirrors frame the extensive collection of spirits and the bar team at work.
Highly anticipated by regulars and a surprise for first-time guests, at 10pm over the weekends and on the eve of public holidays, a secret door into the hidden Ultra Lounge is unlocked revealing a hedonistic adult playground. This dark and sophisticated space boasts seven VIP and VVIP tables with personal hostess, along with an array of sumptuous Chesterfield sofas for those who prefer late night mingling.
The service, style and elegant exclusivity of The Monarchy are backed by an outstanding bar team who shake, mix and stir some of the finest cocktails in the city. With a nod to contemporary British culture, house specialities include Painted Black, tipping its hat to the Rolling Stones, Champagne Supernova, a fruity, light and refreshing cocktail inspired by Oasis, and Message in a Bottle, a cocktail tribute to The Police’s iconic hit made from whisky, Dubonnet, sweet vermouth, orange liqueur and maraschino.
