Founded in 2020, the handcrafted Mexican tequila brand Teremana made its official launch in Indonesia.
As Indonesia’s vibrant world of mixology continues to diversify, a new player is set to add some spice to the country’s spirited playground. The Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson-founded tequila brand, Teremana, recently arrived to the shores of Bali with an official launch at La Brisa Bali on 15 November 2025, bringing a taste of Mexican drinking culture to the bar scene across Indonesia in a deal between distributor Mast-Jägermeister SE and PT Pantja Artha Niaga.
Handcrafted in small batches at Destilería Teremana de Agave, an exclusive, Mexican family-owned distillery in the Jalisco Highlands, the tequila boasts a clean finish and a distinct taste that varies between its three expressions: Blanco, Reposado and Añejo. It’s the result of a meticulous process that is rooted in sustainability through the use of its terroirs’ ingredients, involvement of local businesses and eco-friendly practices, true to its name’s manifesto, Spirit of the Earth.
As an extension of that philosophy, its launch in Indonesia came with a simultaneous partnership with Sungai Watch, an environmental organisation focused on waste management in the nation’s waters, intercepting plastic from reaching the ocean by cleaning rivers. With this initiative, 50% of Teremana’s launch-day sales will benefit Sungai Watch’s efforts, extending its commitment to honour the land it inhabits, from Mexico to Indonesia.
“We are thrilled about Teremana being here. There are so many demands of tequila in Indonesia now, and we eventually can be the one who offers a real ultra-premium tequila with a real sustainability value behind it,” said Stanislav Ponomarev, Country Manager of Jägermeister & Teremana Indonesia.
