Japanese cuisine has long been a staple in Bali’s dining scene. W Bali – Seminyak is embracing this for the upcoming iteration of its famed Sunday Brunch at Starfish Bloo. On 25 January 2026, the beachfront restaurant will welcome La Naya for a special afternoon of delectable fare set against the Pacific Ocean’s cresting waves.
Spearheaded by La Naya’s own Chef Nakamura, the Sunday Brunch buffet spread will be led by umami, the backbone of the Japanese palate. Special ingredients are chosen to highlight this flavour profile, expertly woven into staples from familiar brunch offerings and mainstays in Japanese restaurants. Take the Chawanmushi as an example, accentuated with the richness of Foie Gras, or the unctuous pasta dish dressed up with Ume, a tart Japanese plum. The iconic poolside snack, hamburger sliders, is also given a clever twist, transformed into a delicate and flavourful Crab Sando. For something more classical, diners have some salmon and grouper Temari Sushi as well as Shabu-Shabu to fall back on.
For some contrast and refreshments between bites, a lineup of crafted beverages awaits. Equally reflective of this menu’s eastward orientation, favourite tipples and mocktails are also given a special infusion. Negronis are paired with the toasty notes of hojicha, margaritas are punctuated by the zesty piquancy of yuzukosho, and La Naya is putting its own spin on a non-alcoholic spritz.
