The ascent to the 56th floor of Menara BCA has always felt like leaving the weight of Jakarta behind. Since its original debut over a decade ago, SKYE has served as a compass point for the city, a place where the horizon is the only real boundary. It has now entered a fresh chapter, presenting a space that feels noticeably more personal.

While the panoramic views of Thamrin remain the visual anchor, the atmosphere has shifted toward a quieter, more intentional tone. Architect Willis Kusuma has replaced standard glitz with organic textures and matte metals. The design transition from the warm indoor dining room to the breezy terrace feels intuitive. It is a layout that encourages guests to linger rather than pass through.

The culinary direction has found its stride with a Western Contemporary Grill concept. The kitchen focuses on clarity of flavour and technical precision, showcased through rare premium cuts. Notable additions include the Sir Harry Wagyu, an Australian cut known for its distinct sweetness earned from the cow’s diet of oranges. The culinary journey is built around these hero cuts, featuring shareable plates and comfort dishes that speak to Jakarta’s dining culture and its urbanites’ well-versed palate.

Sustainability of character extends to the beverage programme, which is split into two distinct narratives. In the lounge, the Fruit Roulette series explores the versatility of single ingredients, as seen in the lemon-forward Given Lemon. Meanwhile, the dining area hosts the Taste of Places collection. These drinks, such as the aromatic Coriander Spin, are designed to complement the grill-focused menu.

A unique ritual has also been introduced to mark the transition of the day. The SKYE Ombré cocktail is served exclusively during the window when the sun touches the horizon. It acts as a brief, shared ceremony for those on the terrace. This focus on the moment is further supported by The Chamber, a curated cellar featuring over 300 labels, from accessible bottles to rare vintages.

Beyond the dining tables, the venue is integrating wellness collaborations and a renewed musical identity. From 4pm daily, the lounge blends DJ sets with live instrumentalists to create a soundtrack that evolves with the evening light. It remains a landmark that understands Jakarta’s rhythm, providing a sophisticated vantage point to watch the city move below.
