On Halloween night, KARBON at Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar joins forces with UPPERROOM to give the fairytale a darker twist. Expect music from Freya × Avril, a costume contest with a King Suite stay up for grabs, and a rooftop party that runs until late.
The oldest fairytales were never meant to be sweet. Long before the happy endings, many were stories told to keep children away from the dark woods. On Halloween night, they get their edge back at KARBON, the rooftop destination at Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar, as it teams up with UPPERROOM for Once Upon a Nightmare on Saturday, 31 October.
The pairing makes sense. KARBON brings the setting, with the lights of Bandung spread out below, while UPPERROOM brings the energy. Together, they turn the rooftop into a storybook gone slightly wrong, where the castle has a few more shadows and the music never quite stops. From 10pm until late, Freya × Avril take the stage with their signature sound, keeping the crowd moving well into the small hours.
The other show happens on the dance floor. A Halloween Costume Contest asks guests to dress to kill, with dark fairytale heroines and imaginative characters all in the running. A wicked queen or a wolf in a ball gown would fit right in, and the bolder the look, the better the odds. The best costume wins a stay in the King Suite at Hotel Indigo Bandung, while the runners-up can claim a night in a Standard Room or a dining voucher at KARBON.
Getting in is simple. Every ticket comes with a gin and tonic, and those planning to compete can choose an entry that includes a place in the contest. For guests who would rather not head home at all, room and bottle packages are on hand for a longer night, so the costume can stay on until breakfast.
In this version of the story, nobody needs to be home by midnight. The nightmare begins at ten, and the ending is entirely up to the guests.
