Rumari & Friends returns to Raffles Bali, welcoming Chef Alain Huang of two-MICHELIN-starred restaurant A for its lavish four-hands dinner that explores craftsmanship, seasonality and a thoughtful exchange of ideas.
Since its launch in 2023, Rumari & Friends has been delighting diners to a world-class gastronomic experience that brings talented international chefs and their diverse perspectives to the kitchen of Rumari at Raffles Bali. On 21-22 August 2026, the stately dining room, which has been dubbed the House of the Sun and the Full Moon, is hosting its latest edition of the special programme.
The guest chef for the year’s second Rumari & Friends is none other than Alain Huang, Chef-Founder of the two-MICHELIN-starred restaurant A in Taipei. Chef Alain joins Raffles Bali’s Director of Culinary Gaetan Biesuz to curate an exclusive menu that reflects their shared values yet distinct culinary perspectives, blending Rumari’s characterful Progressive Indonesian cuisine with A’s contemporary French sensibilities.
The menu is built upon Rumari’s 80/20 Rule, a philosophy of sourcing as many ingredients locally, with Chef Alain’s CONTINUMIC culinary approach. A portmanteau of Continue and Dynamic, this term reflects a belief that culinary arts is equally rooted in evolution while remaining anchored in its foundations. The result is a tasting menu with dishes that places an emphasis on its ingredients.
Guests can enjoy the multi-course inside the restaurant’s elegant dining room, which flows with a laid-back rhythm that mirrors the waves rolling along the ocean surface it overlooks. But, in true Rumari fashion, diners can opt for a more intimate setting in its 10-seater chef’s table, Rumari Counter, allowing for a more up close-and-personal dining experience with the two chefs.
