With enviable tropical views across the hotel’s sparkling pools to Double Six Beach and the ocean beyond from its sheltered wooden balcony, as well as colourful couches and tables for small to large groups inside, the restaurant has a homey, welcoming ambience. The staff bustle around in cheerful uniforms, buzzing with good humour and eager to help hungry diners start their day right.
The made-to-order breakfast runs from 7am to 11am daily and offers a wide range of breakfast foods popular in various countries, with a special of dim sum offered only on Sundays from 7am to 9am. Hungry diners can take advantage of the fixed-price option and eat to their stomach and heart’s content, while those who prefer a lighter bite can pay just for what they eat.
Being an Italian restaurant, the coffee is Segafredo and you can order it how you like or take the options of espresso granita or organic iced chocolate milk with chocolate pearls. The teas are organic TWG and range from French Earl Grey to Jasmine Queen Green with various rooibos, green and black teas available. Fresh juices, meanwhile, go from tropical fruits to vegetables to boost your nutritional intake so you are ready to face your day whether it’s lying by the hotel’s pool or a tour of the island’s magnificent temples.
The food options are many and varied and include the United Flavours of Double Six, a selection of breakfasts from around the world, including The American, The Japanese, The Indonesian, which is fried rice, and an English fry up. Less common are options such as The Russian, The French, The Indian and Breakfast Nasi Lemak.
Yet more goodness can be found on the breakfast menu with healthy options like Bircher muesli, house-made granola, ice-chilled berry soup with toasted granola, yoghurt and chia seeds and a super food omelette. Eggs some in a range of options, including Korean steamed eggs, eggs benedict, baked eggs on tomato ragu and black truffle scrambled eggs with grilled asparagus. Other favourites include avocado mousse with barrel-aged feta on toast, chocolate and cinnamon bombolini doughnuts and brioche with fried egg, bacon and lemon mayonnaise.
The hardest choice at Seminyak Italian Food is is what to eat and how to fit in all the delicious options available, but perhaps a good option is to stay a few days and work your way through the menu.
