That’s why Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay introduces its tropical take on 101 Days of Summer, the season-long campaign from the brand’s properties across the globe. It takes shape through an array of frozen treats and refreshing iced drinks served at ALU, the resort’s poolside casual dining venue.
Executive Pastry Chef David Peduzzi has crafted a soft-serve menu, which guests can find at a stall tucked among the foliage next to the main pool. Options include vanilla, chocolate, or a swirl of both, served on individual cones or in a bowl with four different topping sets.
There are classic flavours, like the fresh and tart Berries Treat with fresh strawberries and blueberry and the indulgent Cool by the Pool medley of fudgy brownies, pecans, puffed rice, and caramel. The other two selections are inspired by the island itself: ALU’s Favourite is tropical and bright from banana bread, mangoes, toasted coconut flakes, and a tangy passion fruit sauce, while Island of the Gods incorporate tapioca pearls, tamarind caramel, crispy bananas, and chocolate shavings into its bowl.
Accompanying the soft-serve treats is an array of beverages to sip in between dips in the pool. The frozen margarita cocktails are a worthy option, offering bursts of refreshment through tropical-flavoured libations like the coconut-lime Kelapa Breeze, herbaceous pineapple Tropic Heatwave, and watermelon-lime Sunshine Splash. There’s also a Berries Treat slushy that features a different flavour every day. For those lounging with friends or family, opt for the Cooler Boxes, which include various beer and cocktail options.
