At The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place, this annual tradition takes on a new dimension with Moonbridge Legacy, a collection that transforms seasonal pastry boxes into decorative keepsakes designed to remain long after the mooncakes have been enjoyed.
Inspired by the architecture of traditional Asian bridges, the collection reflects the idea of paths crossing and separate worlds coming together. Giovanni Baietta, the property’s Director of Food and Beverage, highlights the role these hampers play in fostering connection, with the hotel seeking to make corporate gift-giving and relationship-building more memorable.
Inside, the mooncakes offer a varied selection of flavours, ranging from bold contemporary creations to more familiar profiles. Durian Musang King brings the distinctive richness of the prized fruit, while Custard Sea Salt Chocolate strikes a balance between sweet and savoury notes. Gold Corn Salted Egg Custard and Almond Green Tea offer further alternatives to the traditional lotus seed paste, with contrasting flavours and textures.
The collection is available in four distinct architectural designs. Priced at IDR638,000, Aura takes the form of a miniature floral handbag containing two mooncakes. Amber, priced at IDR998,000, presents four mooncakes in a brightly illuminated hatbox. Lumina elevates the presentation further at IDR1,588,000, housed in an elegant two-drawer chest.
At the highest tier, Radiance is priced at IDR2,688,000 and takes inspiration from a pavilion, complete with intricate lattice doors. The eight-mooncake collection is accompanied by festive music and a bottle of wine, adding another layer to the celebratory experience.
While a mooncake is traditionally a gift enjoyed over a brief season, Moonbridge Legacy gives the gesture a lasting presence. With integrated lighting and substantial construction, each box is designed to live on as a decorative piece, offering a luminous reminder of gratitude, connection, and shared celebrations throughout the year.
