Wagyu Yaki-Suki

Offering scenic views across Jakarta’s skyline from the 46th floor of The Plaza in Central Jakarta, Momozen brings a touch of France to its contemporary Japanese cuisine and is famed for its plentiful use of exquisite truffles. The menu is packed with delectable dishes, from a selection of individual and shared tapas, to claypot meals, yaki-suki, pasta, meat and seafood.

French cooking techniques are used to craft Japanese delicacies with high-quality ingredients imported from Japan and Europe, ensuring that diners in this glamorous, intimate restaurant always enjoy the experience.

Perhaps the most popular of dishes at Momozen is the truffle donabe gohan – fluffy, fragrant, seasoned rice cooked in a Japanese claypot with finest dashi broth or truffle butter, then covered with fresh black truffles shaved in front of your eyes at the table. This is comfort food at its very finest.

Truffle Donabe Gohan

Another dish featuring fresh truffles is the Baby Chick Truffle Rice – a whole baby chicken stuffed with umami truffle rice and grilled over charcoal, then carved into pieces and finished with a generous serving of shaved truffles.

For lovers of wagyu beef, a fine choice is the yaki-suki. Diners can choose to have some of the finest marbled wagyu, Hida A5 or Kagoshima A4 or A5, sliced right at the table, served with yaki-suki sauce, truffle egg yolk espuma, chilli, creamed potato and French mushroom paste.

A selection of deserts, including the excellent yuzu creme brûlée, rounds off the divine feast.
