Plataran Indonesia has introduced its Signature Plataran Rijstaffel, a new dining experience that celebrates the diversity of Indonesian cuisine through a carefully curated selection of regional dishes.
Established in 2009, Plataran Indonesia is a national hospitality and tourism company that operates hotels, resorts, restaurants, and event venues across the country. The company centres its business on three key pillars: nature, culture, and community. Through programmes such as Plataran for the Earth, Plataran for the Heritage, and Plataran for the People, it supports environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and community development while creating hospitality experiences that showcase the richness of Indonesia.

The launch of the Signature Plataran Rijstaffel reflects this philosophy by using food to introduce Indonesia’s culinary traditions to a wider audience. The concept takes inspiration from the traditional rijstaffel, a dining style that originated during the Dutch East Indies era and features a wide variety of Indonesian dishes served together. Rather than focusing on a single regional cuisine, Plataran’s interpretation brings together flavours from across the archipelago, allowing guests to experience Indonesia’s culinary diversity in a single meal.
Each menu is prepared using traditional recipes and high-quality local ingredients sourced from different regions of Indonesia. The dining experience begins with appetisers such as Balinese Sambal Matah and Jakarta’s Asinan Juhi, followed by Soto Banjar from South Kalimantan. Main courses include Chicken Satay, Madura-style Duck, and Tapanuli Grilled Prawns, highlighting the distinctive spices and cooking techniques that define Indonesian cuisine. To finish, guests are served contemporary interpretations of classic desserts, including Es Teler Entremet, Es Lemongrass Aloevera, and Wingko Babat.
The Signature Plataran Rijstaffel is designed for both international and domestic diners. For overseas visitors, it offers an introduction to Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage through a single dining experience. For local guests, it provides an opportunity to revisit familiar regional flavours presented with Plataran’s signature hospitality.

Beyond the dining experience, the initiative also supports Indonesia’s food ecosystem. Plataran works with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country, sourcing ingredients locally while helping preserve traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations. This approach reflects the company’s broader commitment to supporting local communities and promoting the nation’s culinary heritage.
The Signature Plataran Rijstaffel is served exclusively at Plataran Menteng, one of Jakarta’s heritage dining destinations. The restaurant has been recognised at Exquisite’s Best Restaurants and Bars 2026, reflecting its reputation for delivering quality Indonesian dining experiences.
