The grand opening of Anantara’s second Italian location coincided with the launch of the highly anticipated La Locanda della Canonica Pizzeria by Gino Sorbillo. Located not far from Naples, in the coastal area of Amalfi, The Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel invites you to one of the great gateway destinations in Italy! The master chef boasts an authentic Italian experience with cuisine that includes eight signature pizzas made with produce collected from across the country.
Chef Gino comes from a family of highly touted chefs, with his grandfather Luigi having opened what became one of Italy’s most famous pizzerias nationwide. The Ambassador of Italian Pizza to the World and the owner of pizzerias around the world with generations of inspiration to draw his meals from, the master chef looks forward to assuring quality flavours for every guest’s taste buds.
The dishes on offer, from appetisers and mains to desserts, contain delectable tastes that cannot be missed. Some of the fresh produce used among the eight signature pizzas includes leafy vegetables, anchovies, lemon zest and olives. The full experience is available for visitors with the “Journey through Campania,” featuring a tasting menu that takes you all over Italy, showing you the origin of some of your favourite classics. Some of the country’s best cheeses are included in the offering’s pizza tastings. Pizzas like the Margherita del Monaco, made with Provolone del Monaco; the Pizza del Casaro, made with Bagnolese pecorino; and the Fior di Latte, made with Agerolese cows’ milk are freshly prepared to sink your teeth into.
