Some places take years to find their stride, while others blossom almost overnight. What began as Bali’s only beachfront Indian restaurant has quickly grown into something larger. The Beach Shack, loved for its bold coastal flavours, and Le Club 22, admired for its Riviera-inspired charm, have now come together as one: Samudra Ganesha. This new destination flows effortlessly from dining room to bar, from leisurely lunches to sunset cocktails, offering a bigger, brighter space by the sea.
The name Samudra Ganesha, inspired by Ganesh, the remover of obstacles and bringer of auspicious beginnings, marks a natural step forward, celebrating growth, wisdom and prosperity. Since its opening in July 2025, it has become the go-to spot for authentic Indian dining by the ocean. Tables filled each evening, clay ovens glowed and the air was rich with spice and smoke. With such a warm reception, standing still was never an option.
Leading the kitchen is Chef Jeevraj Singh, whose culinary journey began in the kitchens of his grandmother in Rajasthan. Since then, he has cooked in royal palaces, led kitchens worldwide and brought his skills to Karma destinations from India to Germany. His food tells stories, rooted in tradition yet shaped by everywhere he has been.
The menu at Samudra Ganesha remains firmly rooted in Indian heritage while embracing innovation. Diners can expect tandoori grills, fragrant curries and rotating regional dishes, alongside themed evenings such as Tandoori Nights, Curry Nights and Bollywood-inspired feasts with food, music and dance.
With the transformation of Le Club 22 into Samudra Ganesha, the bar now presents a dedicated beverage programme inspired by nostalgic Indian street drinks. Under the guidance of Kariana, Beverage Manager at Karma Kandara, a selection of inventive cocktails and mocktails has been created, featuring Indian influences in drinks such as the Delhi Daiquiri, Bangalore Bellini and Mumbai Mule.
