
Following the global success of Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars, it became clear that, despite South Korea’s renowned street food culture, there was a bustling fine-dining landscape to match. Chef Jang Jinbeom (known as JB), whose career had spanned multiple has MICHELIN-starred kitchens, brought that sophisticated flair to Indonesia’s capital with JinJoo Jakarta. It soon caught the attention of the culinary team at Cicada Resort Bali Ubud, Autograph Collection, culminating in a two-night-only collaboration with the resort’s Tangelo Bali on 31 January and 1 February 2026.

Inspired by JinJoo’s emergence as a rising star, Tangelo’s Head Chef Buda sought to infuse his own kitchen with that same MICHELIN-grade excellence. He noted that Chef JB’s expertise offered invaluable new perspectives, paving the way for fresh experimentation. Reflecting on the event, Chef JB explained that after launching JinJoo, he had been eager to experience a different side of Indonesia, viewing the opportunity to bring his craft to Ubud as one he simply couldn’t pass up.
