There’s nothing ordinary about restaurants in Senopati, where even the simplest cuisines are finetuned into spectacular fare. Gokuniku is one of its latest additions, introducing a new edge to sukiyaki and shabu-shabu. As suggested by its name, an amalgamation of the Japanese words for ultimate meat, each serving features the impeccable Japanese A5 Wagyu.
Guests can choose from a selection of Togarashi (chuck tender), Katarosu (chuck eye roll), and Riburosu (ribeye), to be enjoyed in a light and rich signature Original Konbu broth or a silky Chicken Collagen Soup. The crowd-puller, however, is the Spicy Tomato Sukiyaki that’s equally indulgent, fresh, and toasty, which diners can turn into an unctuous, creamy ‘Aftermath’, an umami cheese risotto.
Fine textures of marble, stone, and black tiles impart a sophisticated lift to the dining space, while circular designs, from light fixtures to centrepiece bar seats, infuse a sense of easy flow. All these things come together to make Gokuniku a prime destination for the city’s urbanites to slow down and savour a discerning meal in between Jakarta’s rush.
