Classic Napa Valley Fine Wines

Classic Napa Valley Fine Wines

Respecting traditional values and the art of craftsmanship, the story of Beaulieu Vineyards is one of the extraordinary people who shaped winemaking in America and a legacy that has remained unbroken for over a century.

In 1900, when Georges de Latour’s wife Fernande first laid eyes on the land that would become their original Rutherford vineyard, she named it beau lieu, or beautiful place. Shortly after, De Latour bought the 1.6-hectare plot and founded Beaulieu Vineyard with the vision of making Napa Valley wines that would rival those of his native France.

For more than 100 years, Beaulieu Vineyard has been setting the standard for rich, classic Napa Valley wines with a philosophy that honours the marriage between state-of-the-art technology and gentle, traditional winemaking methods – a combination that successfully builds upon the vineyard’s terroir.

The current wines are a true expression of Napa Valley and today BV, a member of Treasury Wine Estates, stands proud among the world’s finest winemakers, whilst remaining at the forefront of viniculture research and development. The range of elegant wines are approachable yet complex and would make a welcome addition to anyone’s collection.

The Wines

Beaulieu Vineyard Reserve wines are handcrafted from the finest grapes of the vintage, focusing on the premier estates in Rutherford, Carneros and other Napa Valley appellations.

Tapestry Reserve

A blend of five Bordeaux-heritage grape varieties, the newly released 2015 Tapestry Reserve is a true reflection of an exceptional growing season with its expressive, vibrant aromas and flavours. Well-structured and layered with an underscore of bright acidity, it is a complex but very approachable wine built upon a generous core of juicy wild blackberry, dark blueberry cobbler and cassis imparted by the Cabernet Sauvignon and well-integrated notes of gingerbread and toasted spiced oak.

Perfect with a good steak, the Tapestry Reserve is a remarkably food-friendly wine. Enjoy now or lay down until 2025.

Merlot NV

An incredibly approachable and friendly wine, the BV Merlot has a round and juicy character. Half of the wine was aged in seasoned French, American and Hungarian oak to add the trademark toasty tannins and hints of brown spice to the final blend. Lovely red fruit aromas, complemented by peppery oak notes, greet the nose. The palate is lively and bright, brimming with ripe plum and juicy black cherry flavours. Hints of coffee and toasty oak spices join chewy tannins through the long, satisfying finish.

Ready now, drink socially or pair with herbed and grilled meats like pork or lamb or Peking duck.

George de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

A famous wine that lives up to its name, the quintessential George de Latour Private Reserve features 90 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and a fresh bouquet with dark berry fruit notes followed by hints of rose petal and violet. This rich and full-bodied wine is complex and expressive, revealing layers of blackcurrant, bright raspberry, dark cherry and cassis, followed by hints of cedar, cinnamon, clove and mocha.

To enjoy this wine at its full potential, it needs at least five years of bottle aging, younger wines should be decanted and fully aerated. Serve with red meats or strong cheese.
