To mark Uma Cucina’s 13th anniversary, The Pasta Heist 2.0 returns this September, with Diego Martinelli once again in the kitchen for three evenings exploring Bologna flavours through a modern perspective.
Some anniversaries call for reconnecting with old friends. For COMO Uma Ubud, this means heralding the return of Chef Diego Martinelli, founder of CIBO! Cucina Catering Service to the kitchen at Uma Cucina for The Pasta Heist 2.0, running from 21 to 23 September 2026. This three-night event marks the Italian restaurant’s 13th anniversary, following the first one in 2025.
For the anniversary, Chef Diego returns with a menu that revisits the flavours of his home, Bologna, through a contemporary lens. Tortellini al Ragù pairs handmade pasta with beef Bolognese ragù and nutmeg-scented béchamel, while Seafood Linguine brings together artisanal pasta, seafood bisque and live tiger prawns. Bucatini Cacio e Pepe introduces pickled grapes and roasted almonds, before the menu moves beyond pasta with Braised Pork Belly and closes on the familiar comfort of Tiramisu.
For all three evenings, dishes are available à la carte between 6pm and 11pm. With Chef Diego back at the pass and Uma Cucina looking after the guests, the anniversary is tailored to the kind of evening that has kept the restaurant going for 13 years. This means courses are passed around the table, old friends turn up, and conversations continue well past dinner.
