Returning for its second year, The Oyster World Cup Gastronomy 2026 brings a lineup of vibrant affairs centred around world-class cuisine, award-winning gastronomy, internationally acclaimed mixology, and vibrant lifestyle to Grand Chatrium Bangkok.
What comes to mind when speaking of oysters? Some would conjure an image of breezy, sunlit days where trays of the shellfish are freshly served on ice, ready to be enjoyed after a splashy dip in glittering waters. Others might imagine a more refined scenery of pristine tablecloths, sparkling chandeliers, and platters paired with other seafood, caviar, and champagnes. Chatrium Grand Bangkok doesn’t choose one or the other for its highly anticipated annual event; The Oyster World Cup Gastronomy 2026 presents both sides of the coin with equal thought.
Taking place in June and July 2026, one of Siam’s luxury landmarks is welcoming MICHELIN-starred chefs, oyster shucking champions, and internationally acclaimed mixologists from around the world, shaping a dynamic, one-of-a-kind experience that highlights culinary brilliance and vibrant lifestyle over the two-month period. Among the key figures are Chef Deepak “DK” Khosla of Haoma Bangkok, Austrian pastry chef Otto Jurscha, as well as “Demon Chef” Alvin Leung and Malaysian culinary master Ho Chee Boon, each bringing their gastronomic distinction to three unique dining experiences that comprise the Gastro Series.

Other special guests include award-winning Peruvian chef Eduardo Vargas, who will be leading the Flor de Caña 135th Anniversary Gala Dinner, and Chef Takuya Iguma from Japan, whose deftness will be demonstrated through a live tuna slicing show accompanying the Oyster World Cup Brunch. A special and intimate 8-Hand Gala Dinner also welcomes four chefs from Canada, the United States, China, and Thailand for a collaborative menu.
The spotlights of the programme, however, are the two oyster-shucking competitions. Taking place on 20 June 2026, Thailand Shuck Off Challenge (2nd Edition) seeks Thailand’s representative for the 2027 world stage, while the Thailand Grand Écailler Challenge (2nd Edition) on 4 July collaborates with the French Syndicat National des Écaillers and Adrien Geay of Geay Oyster in a leadup to the world competition in France, set to occur later this October.
Various other events also position The Oyster World Cup Gastronomy 2026 as one of the most anticipated lifestyle happenings. Among them are the lineup of mixology-centred affairs like Shake & Sip with Flor de Caña and Michter’s Bourbon Tasting, masterclasses on oyster and caviar, as well as lively pool parties with DJs to mark the programme’s opening and Pride Month.
