An American Pizza in Bali

Gigi’s Supreme Slice embraces the fun in life, offering diners a lively venue, great music and American-Italian pizzeria food and drink that draws in the crowds.

Gigi’s classic pizza

The fun vibe, friendly decor and welcoming ambience of Gigi’s Supreme Slice reach through the wide open floor-to-ceiling doors drawing in passersby lured by the delicious scents and cheerful staff.

It is clearly a playful, casual eatery where guests are welcome to relax, grab some food, have a few drinks, watch some music videos, play Italian bocce (the staff will show you how it’s done!) and hang out.

The music is lively 80’s fare, coupled with a warmly lit central bar surrounded by comfy bar seats, deeply padded booths along the sides, while the back wall is taken up by the kitchen with its pizza oven brought in from Italy that can cook a pizza to perfection in just 4 minutes.

The interior is designed by Robert Marchetti and world pizza champion and TV chef John Lanzafame is the brains behind the thin, crispy Roman pizza bases and luscious toppings that boast a certain sense of freshness, from a squeeze of lemon to fresh mint and rocket. Try their signature Gigi’s classic of tomato sauce, parsley, chilli confit, pepperoni, garlic confit, mozzarella and fresh mint; you might just want to order an extra one to take home!

Starters range from spiced buffalo chicken wings and hot sauce, to a fabulous smashed peas, mint and ricotta bruschetta and a Caesar salad served with a disc of crispy pancetta and crispy parmesan over baby romaine with real croutons.

The pastas are perfectly al dente – try the spaghetti with rich, tomatoey lamb ragu and chunks of tender meat or the Jersey lasagne; the deep-pan meatballs with red sauce and mozzarella should also not be missed.

The menu also has all the usual pizzeria suspects, from a smorgasbord of barbecued meat, to old school pasta and rye sambo; the parmesan shaker is full of good Italian parmesan grated every night and the hot sauce is house-made to add that perfect bite.

Those with a sweet tooth won’t know where to start with gelatos, apple pie, nutella donuts, cookies and milk and the highly tempting banana and coconut split, but as it’s a pizzeria, why not have Jimmy’s Nutella Calzone, an incredibly light pizza dough wrapped round gooey nutella, poached pear and nut praline, with vanilla ice cream on the side.

Drinks run the whole gamut, from soft drinks, beer, wine and cocktails, to strawberry mimosas for those in the holiday spirit.

Gigi’s pizza takeaway corner opens at noon, while the restaurant itself opens at 6PM, until closed.
