Cinema rarely leaves much room for its surroundings. At Coconut Grove, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay takes a different approach, placing the screen on the sand while allowing the sound of the shoreline to remain part of the evening.
Running every Sunday and Monday from 13 September to 9 November 2026, Jimbaran Cinema begins at 6pm with a Sunset Lounge before the screening at 7:30pm. Bean bags sit directly on the sand, while sun beds and armchair sofas create an easy beachfront setting. The programme welcomes resort guests and outside visitors for families with kids over five years old.
The screening is powered by CineWav, which streams film audio directly to each guest’s mobile phone. Personal earphones keep dialogue clear without filling the beach with loudspeakers, so the sounds of Jimbaran Bay remain audible throughout the film. Sundays favour titles suited to families and friends, including Mamma Mia! and The Greatest Showman. Mondays take a more romantic turn with films such as The Notebook.
Food comes directly to each seat during the screening. Lobster rolls share the menu with coconut crab nachos, while Korean-style fried chicken and truffle parmesan fries offer heartier options. Popcorn top-ups continue throughout the evening, with a candy shop and ice cream cart that all add to playful nods to traditional cinema. Meanwhile, the Movie Picnic package upgrades the experience with some caviar, lobster rolls, and optional Dom Pérignon or Billecart-Salmon Rosé.
As daylight slips from the bay, Coconut Grove shifts naturally into an open-air cinema. Earphones go in as conversation softens, yet the sea never fades from earshot. Quiet Cinema keeps the evening connected to its setting, giving a familiar ritual a distinctly Jimbaran character.
