Torno Subito by Massimo Bottura, nestled within the vibrant culinary hub of COMO Dempsey, brings an imaginative journey through Italian cuisine, sprinkled with creativity and nostalgia. As the first Asian flagship of this culinary concept, it captivates diners with its playful reinterpretations of Italian classics against the backdrop of 1960s Italy.
Upon entering the former British army barracks, now transformed by the visionary design of Paola Navone of OTTO Studio, guests are enveloped in a vibrant mosaic of colours and textures, reminiscent of idyllic summers by the Adriatic seaside. The focal point, a “beach bar”, exudes conviviality, inviting patrons to immerse themselves in the La Dolce Vita mood. From Campari soda bottle lamps to an aged Negroni-filled Campari barrel, every detail evokes a sense of nostalgia and warmth.
Under the culinary stewardship of Executive Chef Alessio Pirozzi, Torno Subito delivers a seven-course set menu, CIAO Singapore!, showcasing the restaurant’s signature dishes. Among these delights, the It’s Not Pasta dish stands out – a clever reimagining of cuttlefish and bell pepper stew as a cold tagliatelle pasta dish, surprising and delightful in every bite. For those opting for à la carte, I Love Pizza presents a classic Margherita with a crust so light and airy, crafted from PETRA flour, promising a unique texture and flavour profile.
Saving room for dessert is a must, as Torno Subito’s Tiramisubito steals the show with its playful presentation. Encased in an espresso-infused chocolate shell, cracking it open reveals layers of creamy tiramisu, a delightful twist on the Italian favourite.
