A renowned dining establishment at the Padma Resort Legian, Tenkai Japanese Nikkei Restaurant is known as a haven filled with distinguished Japanese and Peruvian flavours and a unique concept that prepares bites from the two nations together without fusion. Helmed by Peruvian Chef Sandro Medrano, the restaurant takes pride in presenting colourful dishes, rich in sour and spicy tastes and as fresh as one would expect from a Balinese favourite.
The culinary team prides itself on constantly improving the Japanese Nikkei menu with dishes prepared from the freshest locally sourced ingredients. As recently as August 2023, favourites including Papita Loche, Mancora, Nigiri Hamachikei and Gindara A Lo Macho were added to the menu. Diners can enjoy Nikkei favourites like ceviches, tiraditos, maki Nikkei, nigiri Nikkei and robata anticuchos, among others. On the Japanese front, highlighted signature dishes include a local twist of Ceviche A Lo Indo, the unique Nigiri Nikkei with black rice, the fresh tiraditos, the fan favourite Anticuchos and many more. A new sushi bar allows guests to witness the talented chefs in action as they showcase their impressive skills while preparing a variety of freshly crafted sushi, including the new Japanese Nikkei Omakase, featuring three sashimi selections and five types of nigiri.
An array of promotions are ongoing for guests to enjoy, such as the Izakaya Night every Saturday and Sunday, where an infinity flow of Japanese Nikkei small bites are presented through izakaya dining style, accompanied by live acoustic. The Sip & Savour is a monthly dinner series featuring various themes, showcasing a special array of Japanese Nikkei dishes paired with various beverages, including wine, cocktails, beer and more.
