An established part of Jakarta’s oldest five-star hotel, which has hosted state guests since the 1960s, OKU almost seems to stand on its own, while complementing the hotel’s fine dining options. Set on the lobby level, right next to the ballroom, OKU is accessible through its own entrance, where guests are immediately welcomed by the glistening gold reception area. Modern Japanese design adorns the dining area, which is divided by an indoor fountain and metal crane sculpture. The restaurant provides several private dining rooms with views of a traditional Japanese white sand and bonsai garden. 

The kitchen theatre is visible through a glass divider, allowing diners to comfortably witness the delectable creations of Chef Kunihiro Moroi and his culinary team. Internationally acclaimed, Chef Kuni is responsible for OKU’s favourites, such as the stunning OKU Karaage and the truffle gyudon. A master in sushi making, Chef Kuni also crafts the beautiful, iconic OKU Sushi Platter. A must-try for Japanese food aficionados is the five-course OKU Set, including soup, sushi, wagyu steak, intricate dessert, and more.
