The newest bar concept from Capella Singapore, The Pineapple Room, combines history and luxury. Located in the historic Tanah Merah building above the hotel lobby, this sophisticated area honours Sentosa Island’s little-known history as a thriving pineapple plantation in the 1880s. The interiors are decorated with neutral-toned wallpaper featuring intricate drawings of plants and animals, as well as nostalgic photographs of Singapore from the 1940s to 1960s by famed photographer and heritage conservationist Marjorie Doggett.
During the day, guests can indulge in a serene afternoon tea experience at The Living Room, available exclusively from 3pm to 5pm. This elegant offering is reserved for in-house guests only, making it a truly intimate retreat. As night falls, the space transforms into The Pineapple Room, an elevated bar designed to foster meaningful connections and authentic conversations.The menu at the bar showcases Singapore’s diverse cultural heritage as well as Capella Singapore’s friendly demeanour. The Pineapple Room’s signature drink, Triple P, celebrates the venue’s historical roots with tequila reposado as its base, complemented by pineapple, agave nectar, lime, orange bitters and chilli salt rim. Another standout creation, Scarlet Rouge, reinterprets the classic Mary Pickford cocktail with dark rum, cherry liqueur, pineapple, pomegranate, bitters and a touch of edible gold, offering a bold yet elegant take on a timeless favourite.
