A Creative Global Force Enters the Shores of Sundara at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay welcomes its newest talent, Chef Benjamin Halat, as Executive Chef, bringing his globally honed skills to the famed beachfront dining destination Sundara.

After a voyage across global kitchens in over 20 years, Chef Benjamin Halat drops his anchor at a new location. He is currently charting Indonesia on his culinary map, stepping into the role of Executive Chef for Sundara at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay starting 1 May 2026.

Like many others, the German chef’s first memory of food began at his childhood home’s dining table; his favourite experience was a meal cooked by his grandmother served under an olive tree in Italy. It led him to a stint at the MICHELIN-starred restaurant of Koenigshof, a Luxury Collection Hotel (then Hotel Königshof Munich), at only 17 years old. This foundational role helped him foster a sense of discipline, precision, and creativity, which he applied to roles in Germany, Switzerland, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand across brands like The Westin, Mandarin Oriental, and Resorts World Sentosa.

As he continues to exert his culinary prowess at Sundara, he is committed to emphasise on craftsmanship, innovation, and creativity, aligning with the restaurant’s dynamic character. “I’m excited to join Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay and lead such a talented culinary team,” he shares.

“Bali offers incredible ingredients and rich foodie traditions, and I look forward to creating dishes that celebrate this beautiful island while offering new experiences for our guests. I am also looking forward to learning how to surf,” he adds.
