Linguists don’t have to guess twice what Casa Mori is all about. A combination of Spanish for house and Japanese for forest, this restaurant is a collision of Spain’s cultural sensibilities and Singapore’s sylvan roots. The space is a reflection of that, evoking the communal courtyards of Mediterranean homes, spruced up by spillers and potted plants, as well as sculptural benches that pay homage to the tembusu trees native to the area.

Its menu, conjured by Chef Willin Low and Chef José Alonso, equally reflects this unique combination. Signature creations present contemporary reimaginings that fuse familiar classics from both cultures. Highlights include Hokkien Mee Fideua, a riff on a dish from Valencia that replaces the traditionally used pasta with Fujian-style egg noodles ubiquitous among local street hawkers, and Mochi Churros served with two sides: the classic chocolate sauce and a Singaporean standard, kaya.
