Eight Treasures offers a sophisticated Oriental setting in which discerning diners can indulge in the highest quality, health-promoting Chinese steamboat meals.
The glamorous contemporary Chinese decor of Eight Treasures, the beautiful food presentation, thoughtfully curated ingredients and the meticulous attention to detail throughout create an ambience that simultaneously pampers and values guests.
The name and concept behind Eight Treasures were inspired by the Chinese symbols for good fortune and prosperity, of which health and wellbeing are two of the most important factors. The restaurant is renowned for its rich, healthful broths and its selection of prime ingredients on the à la carte menu that include Iberico and US Kurobuta pork, black chicken, US Angus prime short ribs, deep-fried fish maw, US coral clams and golden coin shark’s fin, as well as its delicious home-made dumplings and garden-fresh vegetables, all presented attractively at the dining table.
There are two signature broths in which diners can cook these delicious foods: Shark Cartilage Soup and Szechuan Mala Spicy Soup. The Shark Cartilage Soup is creamy, smooth and rich in collagen, while the highly nutritious Mala soup is a vibrant, pungent red, spicy and full of rich flavours.
Incorporated into these soups are eight renowned medicinal treasures used for generations to improve health and increase stamina and vigour. Gingseng is used to treat a wide variety of ailments, increase stamina and cognition and reduce inflammation, while the cordyceps flower is an ancient fungus used to boost energy and the immune system, as well as being an aphrodisiac! It is a perfect addition to herbal soups as it also adds valuable vitamins and micro elements.
Dried fig, meanwhile, is a powerhouse of antioxidants that help combat heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol and skin problems and the exotic and mysterious night-blooming dragon fruit flower, also known as Queen of the Night, which has been shown by scientists to speed the recovery of torn skin and increase DNA collagen content.
The fern rhizoma drynariae is good for bones and ligaments, repairing kidney deficiencies and stimulating hair growth; cocquito nuts are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, offering protection from stroke and heart disease and nostoc sphaeroides kutz is a sweet-tasting jelly-like freshwater algae packed with nutrients such as protein, calcium and amino acids renowned for expelling body heat and phlegm.
The eighth treasure is the superfood Maca root, which helps with mood swings, wound healing, increased energy, improved libido and fertility and is rich in vitamins and minerals.
The careful curation and use of these high quality ingredients ensures that diners leave Eight Treasures feeling nourished and refreshed, while the gorgeous decor lends its own feeling of wellbeing and contentment.
