Celebrate the month of February with two joyous occasions at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta. First in line is the Valentine’s Day romantic dinner at the hotel’s Rosso Italian restaurant. Specially for 14th February, Italian chef Gianfranco Pirrone has prepared a five-course set menu comprising salmon carpaccio, beetroot risotto with gorgonzola cheese, homemade ravioli with Lombok lobster in creamy bisque, beef tenderloin with porcini mushroom ragout, saffron potato purée and foie gras, panna cotta and tiramisu. Topping off the evening are the complimentary glass of prosecco and rose gold for giveaways. Couples who make their reservations from 1st to 7th February will receive a complimentary bottle of prosecco.
The next festivity is to welcome the Chinese New Year. The hotel’s JIA restaurant – helmed by Chinese Executive Chef Christopher Chai – will prepare Chinese culinary delights including salmon yee sang, eight-treasure pot, deep-fried tiger king prawn with golden pumpkin sauce, braised bird’s nest soup with dried scallop, crab meat, enoki and dried fish maw, braised whole sea cucumber stuffed with shrimp paste and dried oyster, sea moss and mushroom, and more. The delectable menu will be available from 1st to 15th February.
Furthermore, JIA also offers an assortment of festive delicacies to take away, should you want to celebrate in the comfort of your own home. Opt from traditional favourite dishes like suckling pig, Peking duck and salmon yee sang. Red and gold-themed Chinese New Year hampers are available for grabs in various sizes, filled with homemade goodies like XO sauce, black bean sauce, belacan sauce, almond cookies, lotus cookies and eight-treasure tea.
The hotel’s international buffet restaurant, SATOO, is adding the yee shang toss tradition to its buffet offerings for Chinese New Year Eve’s dinner and Chinese New Year’s Day brunch. Meanwhile, the Lobby Lounge is serving a Chinese-themed high tea every day in February from 3pm till 6pm.
