The breathtaking beauty started her career in modelling before securing roles in some of the most popular films in Indonesia. These days, Cathy Sharon focuses on her family and her thriving beauty company.
E: How did you first get in to the entertainment industry?
A: I got in the industry when I was still in high school by getting into modelling first. It was not something I imagined I would do, and it really happened by coincidence, but I just happened to love it and enjoy the ride after all these years.
E: Are there any current or upcoming projects that you can share with our readers?
A: I mainly focus on growing my beauty company, Sada Hybrid Beauty, which will be in its fifth year this year. We’re very passionate about it, everything I do really revolves around it. I do it out of passion because I believe that make-up is such a powerful tool for women in order to gain self-confidence and have a bigger impact to work on all potentials that they have in themselves.
E: What is your secret in having a balanced and healthy life?
A: I always try to recalibrate once in a while. I do enjoy having a me time, just pampering myself, exercising at the gym, having a balanced meal, spending quality time with my children and family who keep me rooted. I love reading books for self-improvement and biographies. I believe that having a balanced life means that you know how to appreciate yourself, you practise self-love in order to become a positive person – not only to yourself, but also to people around you, and have a bigger impact on society, your work and everything that you do.
E: As a well-known public figure, how do you use your influence to bring positivity to your fans or followers?
A: I do believe that working in the entertainment industry and being a public figure have been such a huge blessing in my life. I don’t want that blessing to be taken for granted, so I do believe we need to share the blessings we have. You can use your name in order to support higher causes, campaigns that you truly believe in to make the world a better place.
E: How do you define success?
A: I believe that success is truly achieved only by being completely happy with yourself. So, when you’re truly content with everything that you have achieved and all the people around you – whether it’s your family or your children – and having a life with purpose, that’s being successful.
E: You are one of the most famous beauties in Indonesia. When do you feel your most beautiful?
A: I don’t always think of myself as being beautiful, especially growing up. I feel most beautiful when I wear make-up. I know it sounds vain, but when I wear make-up, it’s like a self-love therapy. When I finish my make-up, I feel fresh and confident. I also feel most beautiful when my children say I’m beautiful.
E: What advice would you give the new generation that would like to get in to the entertainment industry?
A: Believe in yourself and get rid of all the negative thoughts, because it is a tough industry. There will be a lot of people talking, and not all the talking is positive, so it’s really important to have a really great support system. Whatever people say or do just keep your eyes on the prize, be focused, be professional, give 110 percent, be discipline with yourself and your lifestyle, groom yourself well and be a tough cookie.
