E : Describe your typical day in a sentence.
Handoko: In this industry every day is a blessing and a great opportunity to meet new people and delight them with our passion and one goal: to make them happy.
E : So how did you come to be the F&B Manager for DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta – Diponegoro?
Handoko: I started my career as a server, and then I followed my curiosity about guest behaviour to the Sales Marketing Department. Due to my biggest passion in F&B and years of experience in the hospitality industry, I decided to take on this position.
E : What’s the toughest part of your job?
Handoko: There is no toughest part because I believe in my team.
E : And what makes you smile at work?
Handoko: When everyone is happy; everything pays off when my team and the guests are smiling. It feels like everyone appreciates your hard work.
E : What motivates you?
Handoko: My family.
E : Would things fall apart if you weren’t around?
Handoko: As a team, each of us have a part to play in having each other’s back anytime. So when there is someone who is not around, nothing is different. Because We are strong, as a team.
E : Who, in your team, deserves more recognition and why?
Handoko: Each of them deserves recognition, because we work together as a team, not as individuals.
