E: What are your responsibilities?
A: My responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the beach club’s operations, from guest experiences to team management. I ensure that every detail, from service to ambience, aligns with the high standards we are known for. Additionally, I’m involved in strategic planning, marketing initiatives and ensuring that KU DE TA remains a top destination for both local and international visitors.
E: What makes a typical day?
A: A typical day at KU DE TA is dynamic and fast-paced. My day starts with a team meeting to review the day’s events and any special requirements. I spend a significant amount of time on the floor, interacting with guests and staff, and making sure everything is running smoothly. There’s also a lot of behind-the-scenes work, such as coordinating with the kitchen, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that our events and promotions are executed flawlessly.
E: What are your best attributes?
A: I’d say my best attributes are my ability to multitask and my keen eye for detail. In a venue as vibrant and diverse as KU DE TA, it’s crucial to be adaptable and to maintain high standards in every aspect of the operation. I’m also known for my ability to inspire and motivate the team, creating an environment where everyone strives to deliver their best.
E: Team player or team leader?
A: I see myself as both a team player and a team leader. Leadership, to me, means guiding and supporting my team while also being an active participant in the day-to-day operations. I believe in leading by example and fostering a collaborative environment where every team member feels empowered to contribute.
E: Who has been the most influential figure in your career to date?
A: The most influential figure in my career has been a former manager who showed me the importance of balancing creativity with operational excellence. He taught me how to maintain the essence of what makes a venue unique while ensuring it operates
smoothly and efficiently.
E: Name one really special thing about your venue in terms of its culinary offerings.
A: One standout feature of KU DE TA is our commitment to using locally sourced, high-quality ingredients in our menu. We have such a variety; there really is something for everyone.
E: How do you unwind?
A: I unwind by spending time at the golf course. Finding my golf ball in the bushes is where I find my peace. I also enjoy exploring the local food scene and finding inspiration in Bali’s diverse culinary offerings.
E: Dead or alive, who would you like to take out to dinner?
A: I would love to take Anthony Bourdain out to dinner. His approach to food, culture and life was truly inspiring, and I believe a conversation with him over a great meal would be unforgettable.
