The perfect companion to one another, a rum and cigar pairing gives a new experience and teaches the art of identifying flavours and notes. This perfect combination was presented by Plantation Rum. To celebrate the launch of the Plantation Rum range in Indonesia, several events were held in Loewy and Three Buns in Jakarta and Potato Head and Double Six Hotel in Bali.
“Rum & Cigars” was Plantation Rum’s first event in Jakarta, which was held in Loewy back in 8th May 2015. As the Marketing and Export manager for Asia Pacific, Claire Bruere explained the truly unique experience showed the intricacies of various cigar profiles while savouring their classic pairing with selected Plantation Rums.
Meanwhile, Plantation Rum mixologist and rum expert, Charles Ollivier created special rum cocktails at the rum station to guide guests through the ideal cigar and rum pairing. The majority of the cocktails were created using the Grands Crus of rum; Dark Chocolate Plantation using Plantation Rum Barbados 2000, Coffee Jam using Plantation Jamaica 2001, Prospector No. 2 using Plantation Grande Réserve 5 years, Panamanian Old Fashioned using Plantation Panama 2002 and Mystic Caravan using Plantation Barbados XO 20th Anniversary.
