Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar is the new addition to Bangkok’s dining scene that everyone has been waiting for.
Bangkok, a city internationally renowned and loved as a rich culinary destination, has just welcomed a new and exceptional addition to its vibrant dining scene, Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar. This restaurant and bar has brought refined dining to a whole new level, to the 76th and 77th floors to be exact. Located in the iconic King Power Mahanakhon building – famed for its pixelated-like design and details, Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar is the highest dining and drinking venue in the city.
While it’s located in the heart of Sathorn in Bangkok, stepping into the skybar, guests will feel transported to an elevated sanctuary away from the city’s busy cacophony. Designed by the team of internationally known and respected interior designer Tristan Auer at Wilson Associates, Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar aims to provide modern city dwellers and world travellers with an escape where they can relax and unwind.
Details like a large bull head sculpture, French antique books, Japanese ceramic pottery and hand-painted vases are reminiscent of exotic world travels. Add to that the floor-to-ceiling windows that boast breathtaking views and an outdoor terrace created to resemble an urban jungle and Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar conjures up a magical forest in the sky kind of vibe.
At the helm is Executive Chef Joshua Cameron, a US native who previously worked in the famous Eleven Madison Park restaurant in New York. Joshua’s passion for travelling and exploring international flavours is apparent in his culinary creations for Mahanakhon, featuring elegant selections of western and Asian dishes – complemented by a wide array of classic cocktails and more than 100 curated wines.
Even from the starter section on the menu, discerning diners can already find a rich variety of delicate bites – from homemade Perigord foie gras terrine with caramelised onion and grilled sourdough, and Canadian Maine lobster roll with shallot and herbs, to regional delights like spicy Thai banana blossom salad and Hokkaido uni panna cotta with yuzu ponzu.
The main courses are hearty and exquisite – from grilled duck magret with larb and rice chips and 48-hour Australian short ribs served with cous cous, grape and eggplant, to the signature Mahanakhon burger with bacon, Bordier truffle gouda and fries, and a mouth-watering selection of charcoal-grilled dishes.
The array of palate pleasers doesn’t stop at the food as Mahanakhon also offers world-class libations. Featuring an extensive selection of signature cocktails, wines, spirits and craft beers, the dining destination is perfect for an after-hours tipple session, in addition to a sophisticated dinner date.
