Four Hands, Three Chefs, Two Culinary Perspectives, and One Love for Authentic Italian Cuisine

Gianni Stargiotti

Throughout the month of July, Amerta at Anantara Ubud Bali Resort hosts an elegant evening dedicated to the warmth and comfort of authentic Italian cuisine through special four-hand dinners by three celebrated Italian chefs.

Italian cuisine is one of the examples of how authenticity isn’t defined in a singular way; one’s nonna may make a staple dish differently from another’s zia. But that’s the beauty of Italian food: every region, every family, and even every person adds their own flair to create a tapestry of food culture that’s driven by something so intrinsically human-driven, even extending to a robust heritage of the joy of gathering around the table. That’s the spirit behind A Curated Four Hands Culinary Series, the month-long programme at Anantara Ubud Bali Resort’s Amerta restaurant, taking place each Friday throughout the month of July.

As Executive Chef at Anantara Ubud, Chef Gianni Stargiotti brings his 35-year expertise that spans Europe and Asia, leading the series with his perspective that strikes a balance between tradition and contemporary techniques. He will be joined by two Italian chefs, each offering their own unique perspective on approaching the rustic charms of their native cuisine.

On 3, 10, and 17 July 2026, Chef Gianni is joined by Chef Alessandro De Boni, an Italian chef and restaurateur with a global footprint in Italy, Spain, Switzerland, England, and Indonesia, who emphasises on artisan techniques and a deep respect for quality ingredients to bring out the best flavours possible. Meanwhile, the 24th and 31st welcomes Chef Gianluca Visciglia, who combines his family’s Southern Italian heritage with Northern Italian and Tuscan influences for a masterful understanding of the country’s regional depths.

Together, each dinner sees Chef Gianni and the guest chef serving up an array of specially curated menus that showcase authentic flavours and seasonal ingredients. Diners can find rich delights like Burrata di Melanzana, unctuous pastas such as the Raviolini alla Carbonara, Tagliatelle all’Agnello Ubriaco, and hearty entrées like the 15 Days Dry Aged AUS Grass Fed Rib Eye or Dentice, before ending with indulgent desserts such as Panna Cotta alla Nutella e Lamponi.

“Italian cuisine is deeply connected to memories, generosity and a sense of place. This series is an opportunity to share the flavours of our homeland and invite guests to discover the stories, traditions and regional influences that make Italian cuisine so special,” shared Chef Gianni.
