One of Jakarta’s most famous brunch spots, Asia Restaurant occupies a swanky and airy space on the lobby of The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan. With its strategic location and exquisite culinary offerings, it is no wonder that the restaurant is a favourite haunt of many high-powered executives and socialites in the city. Guests enter the restaurant through a handsome reception area, greeted by the restaurant’s eager staff. The restaurant’s interior boasts lofted ceilings with tall vertical windows dominating the far end of the room, allowing for plenty of natural daylight. The dining area is divided into a variety of seating to accommodate all guests. Families visiting Asia Restaurant will be delighted at the restaurant’s new Superhero Brunch offering, where kids can enjoy Superhero themed culinary creations, take photos with their favourite superheroes and listen to hero-themed live music.
The buffet spread is a magnificent affair – long stretches of marble counters brimming with local and international delicacies prepared by the restaurant’s creative culinary maestros. One starts off with the sushi counter, in which a feast of fresh sashimi and meticulous hand-rolled sushi awaits. Up next is baskets of bread, butter and spreads sidled next to the salad station, which boasts a selection of vibrant creations. The mains for the restaurant is an ever-changing menu of local delights such as satay, ayam betutu, rendang and nasi goreng while the mainstay is the made-to-order teppanyaki grill items. There are also the roast station and the dim sum station for those with prodigious appetites, as well as the mouth-watering dessert station with house-made cakes and ice creams. Our favourite is definitely the decadent Cendol cake which is specially available only at the Asia Restaurant.
